Why do people believe in UFOs?

Human wisdom do much more astonishing, such as creating machines can help people to set foot on another planet, but people still nurture a strange beliefs with things like UFO. So where is the reason?

According to Live Science, the National Geographic Society has conducted a poll about 80 million Americans believe there are UFOs they have or not reviews. Results showed that 36% of Americans believe that UFOs, only 17% are not. The rest of them are not making a decision. 

In this survey, we also obtained other interesting figures as many as 80% of those surveyed said that the government is hiding information about UFOs, 77% believe that aliens have visited Earth...

The rate of those who believe in the existence of UFOs in this poll are broadly consistent with other surveys conducted in previous years. Gallup poll in 2001 showed that the number of people still believe in haunted houses, the devil is much more than believe in UFOs.

According to the poll results of the National Geographic Society, a whopping 77% of Americans believe that aliens have visited Earth interesting science facts. They believe in the mystical stories and encounters in peace, like the aliens have helped humanity to build great civilizations, namely the construction of the Egyptian pyramids.

Meanwhile, only 13% of the 1,114 people who fear the extraterrestrial inhabitants will attack them. Clearly, the science fiction films such as "Independence Day" and "Signs" did not make much impact.

Most scientists agree that belief in UFOs is driven by the people are always trying to find larger meaning of the universe and man's relationship with the foreign objects. Stories such as a visit by aliens simply post-industrial version of the fairy tale, the devil and other fantasy characters.

It has been suggested that this belief is not simply related to theology. Imagine the aliens built on our own image: they are curious as we are, they build the telescope as we and they, random fact of the day also have a strong incentive to spend time time and other resources to prove he does not exist alone in this universe. Also, there are people who believe in UFOs find it just as interesting.
